UTokyo President's Award winner from PEAK!

We are very proud to announce that Rina Sakata from PEAK ES (Environmental Sciences) has been awarded this year’s top UTokyo President’s Award for academic achievement!

The academic achievement section of the University of Tokyo President’s Awards targets individuals or groups with outstanding academic achievements who have received critical acclaim in the academic community. Award winners serve as a role models for other students and enhance the honor of the University.

Rina Sakata was awarded for her research work in a study entitled, “Base editors for simultaneous introduction of C-to-T and A-to-G mutations.”

Not only was her work published in the high profile international scientific journal, “Nature Biotechnology,” but her findings were also presented at various academic conferences, and she was invited to give a prestigious lecture at Harvard University.
