Application Schedule for 2018 Enrollment

 
1. Application Period

October 27, 2017 - November 29, 2017

Submit the application materials during this period. Applicants must choose one of the two programs (Japan in East Asia or Environmental Sciences) when applying. They will be evaluated based on the program they choose.

2. First Screening:Document Review

December 5, 2017 - January 19, 2018

Applicants are initially assessed on their educational achievements and the content of their application essays. Reviewers also take into consideration the evaluation forms and other materials submitted by the applicant.

3. Invitation of an Interview

January 19, 2018 - January 26, 2018

Applicants receive the result of the first screening via their Mypage accounts. Those selected are invited to attend an interview. The applicants must reply promptly to confirm their attendance at the interview.

4. Second Screening:

Interview

February 3, 2018 - March 31, 2018

During the interview, the applicant may be asked to provide written answers to questions given by the interviewers.

5. Acceptance

April 4, 2018

Places for the PEAK programs at the University of Tokyo are offered to successful applicants.

6. Enrollment Decision

May 10, 2018

Deadline for the return of your Letter of Intent. Administrative procedures for preparation to study in Japan begin.

7. Enrollment Procedures

Package 1

Mid May

Instructions about enrollment procedures are sent to those who have returned the Letter of Intent to accept a place at the University of Tokyo.

8. Payment of Admission Fee

Late May

Students who have been given an unconditional offer are asked to pay the admission fee.

Late August

Students who have been originally given a conditional offer and admitted on the submission of the final scores/grades are asked to pay the admission fee.

9. Orientation Information:

Late July

Instructions about orientation and enrollment registration are sent to the students.

10. Enrollment

September 1, 2018

The University of Tokyo (PEAK) academic year commences.
