The University of Tokyo makes every effort to provide scholarships to as many talented international students as possible. We are delighted to be able to announce a range of merit-based scholarships available when the programs launch in October 2012.
University of Tokyo Scholarships
A number of University of Tokyo Scholarships will be available which will provide full University fees and living expenses for the full four years of the course.
Freshman Scholarships
In addition to the University of Tokyo Scholarships, a number of Freshman Scholarships will also be available which cover the enrollment fee along with University fees and living expenses for the first year of the course
Corporate Scholarships
We will also have corporate scholarships (Todai-Bridgestone Scholarship/Todai-Daiwa Securities Scholarship) available for some students accepted onto the program which will provide a monthly allowance.
In total we believe that around two-thirds of the students admitted onto the Programs will receive a scholarship.
In addition to these scholarships, international students are also eligible for other sources of financial support. The Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO), for example, offers scholarships for international students studying in Japan.
Other scholarships for international students provided by organizations such as JASSO and the Rotary Yoneyama Memorial Foundation are listed here:
