Coming to the University of Tokyo

Before arrival

International students accepted to the University of Tokyo must fulfill immigration requirements and hold a valid student visa. Further information detailing the full procedures will be sent to students on acceptance of their place. If there is any reason why you believe it may be difficult to obtain a student visa, you should contact us as soon as possible.

After arrival

Students will be required to register with the local governmental office and become members of the National Health System. By joining the National Health System, students are covered in the event of accident or illness.
